International North Sea Days

Every year in the Netherlands, there are ‘North Sea Days’, a platform where scientists, policymakers and business people interested in the North Sea meet and exchange information.

This year, the North Sea Days will be on 4 and 5 October in Hotel Zuiderduin , a hotel that looks out on our working area: the North Sea.

For the first time this year, the North Sea Days will have an international slant. After all, several countries are located on the shores of the North Sea and the research issues are not confined to the Netherlands. Sharing knowledge about the North Sea with other people beyond our own borders will be a serious goal during this event.

So this year, there will be speakers from The Netherlands and other countries. And the language used on the second of the North Sea Days will be English.

The sub-themes for the programme will be:

  • EU directives from the Dutch perspective
  • Monitoring and data management
  • EU directives from the international perspective
  • Marine spatial planning
  • Building with Nature

There will be both plenary and parallel sessions.

The fee for two days will be 225 euros per person. One night's stay in Hotel Zuiderduin costs 80 euros.
You are invited to register via the registerform on this page.

The organisation this year will be managed by Deltares, Imares|WUR and the Netherlands Institute for Marine Research.
