Deltares will carry out this project together with MARIN and with engineering offices, ship builders, ship owners and contractors from The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Singapore.
In September, Deltares will carry out a test with geotextile, at the IJkdijk location in Groningen. This special textile will be placed vertically into the test dike to see if the process of piping can be confined.
Cross-border maritime spatial planning can be a problem if the planning of the countries involved is not harmonized and conflicting interests arise.
