Training Course Anura3D v2017.2 – Basic LevelRegister for this course
The theoretical part of this training (Day 1) focuses on presenting the basic MPM formulation capable of simulating the interaction between solid and liquid phases and structures. The approaches of drained, undrained and fully coupled material behaviour will be addressed. The soil is modelled as a saturated porous continuum understood as a mixture of solid skeleton and pore water. The contact behaviour will be explained by showing the underlying algorithm and illustrative examples. For the soil constitutive behaviour basic soil models are available and an interface to include user-defined models is presented.
Participants will gain experience as users of the Anura3D MPM Software. In several training exercises (Day 2), the attendees will learn capabilities of Anura3D by means of a set of practical problems that will be solved following a tutorial:
- Oedometer problem, modelling of dynamic consolidation with large deformation
- Sliding blocks, modelling of contact behaviour including multiple interacting bodies
- Column collapse (Figure 1), modelling failure of saturated soil as two-phase material
- Shallow foundation (Figure 2), modelling of soil–structure interaction and plastic soil failure.
**Please note that we also offer a free workshop prior to this Anura3D training**
