Research on Serious Gaming: Port of the Future
What can you expect as a Senior Researcher?
The dynamic interaction between Port, city and stakeholders in the region of major sea ports coupled with ambitious technical, environmental, social and economic goals needs to be better understood and simulated. To this end Deltares has developed a tool called Port of the Future Serious Game (PoFSG, www.deltares.nl/en/software/port-of-the-future-serious-game). By using the game, port managers and other stakeholders will explore and analyse the possible development trajectories, highlight port dynamics, take green port policy decisions while ensuring optimal port operations, and evaluate impacts of potential development and policy pathways. Measures available within the game, based on technical merits, are ranked and scored by their contributions to people, planet and profit (PPP).
Recently the H2020 – Port of the Future project ‘Corealis’, in which Deltares participates, was awarded. As central team member and work package leader Deltares seeks to hire a Senior Researcher to dedicate their time fully to the further development of the PoFSG.
