In the afternoon on Day 2 of the first Deltares Hydrology Software Suite – International User Days the Climate Adaptation Symposium will take place. Here you will find an overview of the entire programme.
The Climate Adaptation Symposium aims to bring together a diverse group of practitioners from different disciplines within climate adaptation to showcase the latest developments, exchange knowledge, and create connections. The Symposium opens with a keynote address by Bart van den Hurk, the co-chair of IPCC Working Group II, on how modeling will influence the IPCC's upcoming assessment report. The keynote is followed by an overview and a demonstration of dynamic adaptative policy pathways, the latest developments in global modeling, and recent progress in tools for assessing and managing risk from multiple compounding hazards.
The second part of the Symposium is a series of breakout sessions to dive into selected planning and stakeholder engagement tools. These cover a broad range of topics, including assessment of urban resilience measures, flood impact assessment and adaptation, and climate vulnerability assessments at the basin level.
