Giorgio Santinelli was trained as a civil/environmental engineer at the University of Tor Vergata (Rome), with a special focus on Geotechnics. Later on he specialized with an additional Master in Oceanic Engineering at University of Genoa. Giorgio joined Deltares in 2010, where he worked on the management and analysis of Coastal Morphology data in various European countries. Image and video processing for coastal morphology are an important source of data in his work. He has analyzed in-situ observations and satellite images from coastal waters worldwide, including data from the Sand Engine project. Concerning Data Management, he works in Emodnet projects, making use of OpenEarth platform and philosophy. He has good programming skills in Python, Matlab and R.
