Ida de Groot-Wallast
(Ir.) Ida de Groot-Wallast is our team’s contact for all issues relating to hydraulic aspects of structures, such as locks, sluices, and weirs. She oversees the relationships between projects and translates the technical aspects into a clear advice. Furthermore she links the different fields of expertise on hydraulic structures within Deltares. As a result her approach provides for an integrated advice on hydraulic structures.
The Hydraulic Structures Team deals with issues like:
· Salt intrusion through locks,
· Filling and emptying systems of locks
· Hydraulic design of weirs
· Dimensions of bed protection around structures
· Forces on ships (in locks)
