Deltares is substantively involved in the program of this Summit, with numerous contributions. Below is a brief overview.
Water, Cities and Infrastructure Anchoring Events
In the Water Anchoring Event, Annemieke Nijhof (Managing Director Deltares), together with a high representative of the World Bank, introduces the World Bank-Deltares Flagship Report Averting Disaster: Innovative Governance for Hydro-Climatic Risk Management. During this event, we will also launch two communities of practice with Deltares as co-lead. One about inclusivity (Deltares expert Stephanie Janssen) and one about water and adaptation in cities (Deltares expert Hans Gehrels). We therefore demonstrate the new version of the World Water Atlas.
In the Cities Anchoring Event, Hans Gehrels takes part in a panel on capacity building for resilient cities. Deltares projects in Bangladesh and Tanzania are highlighted during the Infrastructure Anchoring Event.
Deltares expert Bregje van Wesenbeeck is speaker on January 25th during the CAS talk ‘Accelerating African Adaptation, Disaster Risk Management, and Nature-Based Solutions”.
