Deltares member of independent panel of experts for flood modelling in Queensland

Published: 9 July 2020

The Australian and Queensland governments have finalised the establishment of an independent panel to assess the flood modelling developed for a planned Inland Rail system in Queensland. The panel of five experts have been appointed by the Australian and Queensland Governments to provide the highest level of assurance for the design of Inland Rail.

The five members are Ferdinand Diermanse (Deltares), Mark Babister (WMA Water), Tina O’Connell (HDR Pty Ltd), Steve Clark (Water Technology) and Martin Giles (BMT).

The panel will test and provide expert advice on all existing flood models to ensure that they are fit-for-purpose while the Australian Rail Track Corporation continues to progress the design, consultation and approvals processes required to get construction underway.
