Implementation of Green Infrastructure: how to make it a success?

Published: 16 May 2014

On June 2 Deltares organizes the workshop Green Infrastructure during the Green Week in Brussels. Green Infrastructure is the concept of addressing the spatial structure of natural and semi-natural areas but also other environmental features which enable citizens to benefit from its multiple services.

Great potential for economic development

Investing in the natural functions of ecosystems offers a great potential for economic development, human well-being and the environment. The ‘European Technology Platform for water’( focuses on the benefits for water safety, water purification and water storage.

Green infrastructure high on the European Agenda

The implementation of green infrastructure to secure these benefits is high on the European agenda. Participants of the workshop are asked to bring with them existing or planned cases. We are looking for green infrastructure cases in various states of development and implementation. During the workshop knowledge, experiences and do’s and don’ts will be mapped and the results of this assessment will be shared with all participants afterwards.

Deltares organizes the workshop with WssTP WG Green Infrastructure and IUCN.

Venue: CEFIC, Avenue E. van Nieuwenhuyse 4, Brussels, Belgium. Time: 10.00-13.00 h.
Workshop and lunch are free of charge.
