Knowledge portal for climate-resilient planning

Published: 14 October 2014

The Spatial Adaptation knowledge portal was launched at the knowledge festival of the same name. The portal will help administrators and policymakers with climate-resilient and robust planning for urban areas.

There are no set standards or assessment values for many aspects of water-resilient and climate-proof activities. That means that stakeholders have to formulate their own objectives and ambitions. The knowledge required for that purpose, as well as potentially inspiring examples, can be found on the knowledge portal.

Guide for urban area stress test

Deltares is one of the parties that supplies knowledge, such as the stress test guide, through the portal. This test helps to identify areas that may be susceptible to the impacts of flooding, extreme precipitation, or drought and heat. It supplies information for the purposes of a robust approach, as well as a number of examples from practice.

The portal is available in both Dutch and English. It is an initiative of the Delta Programme | New construction and restructuring and Knowledge for Climate.
