Royal honour

Professor Majid Hassanizadeh, a Deltares hydrogeology expert, has been awarded a royal honour for exceptional services.

“This honour is a recognition of his exceptional achievements as a professor, scientific researcher and teacher in the field of hydrogeology. His work has national, international and global significance. He stands out with head and shoulders from many of his colleagues and he is seen globally as an eminent and authoritative scientist. He is a leading authority in the field of porous media. A research field that is not only very important scientifically, but that also has a major social component, affecting many areas of our daily lives. He has already received numerous prestigious, international, scientific awards and research grants.”

The mayor of De Bilt presented the honour to Majid at the summer school ‘Pore Scale Modelling and Upscaling of (Reactive) Transport in Partially-Saturated Porous Media.’
