Quickscan microplastics sources

An approach was developed with the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment and Rijkswaterstaat for the Ministry of Infrastructure & the Environment to prioritise the various possible sources of microplastics.

Because there is no quantitative information available about emissions, this primarily involves using a number of more qualitative criteria such as possible approaches for consumers and available alternatives. This approach has been the starting point for more targeted research looking at a number of sources of plastics in the environment.
