Sharp bend flow : comparison of Delft3D-FLOW with LES and measurements for sharp bends
This MSc-research is a validation of the Delft3D-FLOW model for flow in sharp bends. For the validation, detailed measurements of flows through a sharp bend (radius/width < 2 a 3) flume, performed at the EPFL (Lausanne, Switzerland) and Large Eddy Simulations (LES) conducted at the TU Delft are used. The objective of this study is to analyze to what extent Delft3D-FLOW is able to predict the hydrodynamic processes in sharp open channel bends. This study contains the comparison of several important quantities of Delt3D-FLOW simulations, measurements and LES.

Modelling the carrying capacity of the Oosterschelde : Deltakennis 2010
The integrated ecosystem model for the Oosterschelde has improved in several ways. As a result, modelled primary productions now show an acceptable fit with measurements. In comparison to previous results, however, the fit with measured nutrient and chlorophyll concentrations has somewhat deteriorated. Also, results suggest that the existing grazer pressure in the Oosterschelde may be larger than was predicted before.

Risk management for roads in a changing climate : a guidebook to the RIMAROCC method
This project was initiated within the ERA-NET ROAD Coordination Action, “ENR SRO3 - Road Owners Getting to Grips with Climate Change”. The partners in ERA-NET ROAD (ENR) were Austria, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Ireland, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom. The Guidebook is part of the RIMAROCC project with the objective to develop a common ERA-NET ROAD method for risk analysis and risk management, with regard to climate change, for Europe.
Navigability at an unstable bifurcation : the Montano-Murindo bifurcation of the Atrato River in Colombia
This document forms the final thesis report to accomplish the Master of Science degree in Hydraulic Engineering at Delft University of Technology, faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences. The thesis' subject regards a navigability study of the Atrato River in Colombia, which zooms in on sedimentation problems that evolve around a bifurcation. This study is carried out at Deltares under the supervision of dr. ir. Mosselman and dr. ir. Sloff.
An annotated bibliography on 'reseach by design' : ontwerpend onderzoek
Wageningen University and Deltares explored the meaning of "research by design". The research questions were "What is understood by RbD?", What are the added values of RbD?" and "How can RbD be best used in practice and (applied) research?". These questions are answered by an annotated bibliography and observations and analysis of design workshops.
