Ten years of ‘Enabling Delta Life’
Our knowledge and expertise go back much further: in 2008, the resources of GeoDelft, parts of Rijkswaterstaat and TNO, and the Waterloopkundig Laboratorium were merged to form a new research institute. Deltares was born. Over the past ten years, Deltares has used its water and subsurface knowledge to work on liveable, safe and sustainable deltas both in the Netherlands and worldwide. Deltares has now become a research institute with national and international operations
Open day on 6 October
On 6 October, we are opening our doors to everyone who wants to know how Deltares works on smart innovations to improve flood risk management.
Contact day on 5 October
We have not achieved our successes all by ourselves; cooperation with partners was and still is crucial to this. To celebrate our anniversary, we invite Deltares relations to a special stakeholder day on Friday, October 5 at the Boussinesqweg 1 in Delft. You will receive an invitation for this.
What can you expect?
We will take you into a future of multifunctional dikes, energy from water and the subsurface, clean water and green cities. See how we use models to predict the behaviour of water and the subsurface, and how we conduct full-scale tests to look at the effects of waves on dikes, dunes or offshore structures. And we are inviting you to get involved yourself: build a dike, look into the subsurface and visit our interactive data lab.
Entrance is free. Everyone is very welcome on this open day at the Boussinesqweg location in Delft. So block the date in your diary. We are looking forward to celebrating our tenth anniversary with you. We hope to see you on 6 October!
