Due to a power cut on 1 March, two discharge groups at Den Oever remained open during high tide at sea. During this study, it was initially thought that a third discharge group had also remained open for several hours, but this proved not to be the case once the study was completed.
In the days following the power cut, intensive discharging and measurements took place, with regular large series of profile measurements.
During this period, high levels of salinity were found in the Den Oever navigation channel and in several old tidal channels. See the results of a measurement taken on 10 March below.
