About Anoek van Tilburg
Anoek is a PhD Candidate at Deltares and the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (at the Institute of Environmental Studies). They have an interdisciplinary background in earth- and environmental sciences, from Leiden University College and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
Their research is part of the Horizon2020 ‘Assessing Climate Change Risks for Europe’ (ACCREU) project, which focuses on the economics of climate adaptation. As part of this project, Anoek researches how cost-benefit analysis on flood adaptation measures can be extended to including broader social effects, by integrating assessments of co-benefits, as well as intra- and intergenerational justice. Incorporating these dimensions could help mitigate inequal effects of climate change and adaptation, thereby contributing to the Deltares moonshot on Delta’s remaining habitable.
