About Djimin Teng
Djimin Teng is a hydraulic engineer working on various subjects, mostly within the Dutch flood risk sector. He graduated Delft University of Technology with his Master thesis on climate adaptation of rubble mound breakwaters, which was nominated for the Hydraulic Engineering prize in 2023. Furthermore, he worked on interdisciplinary flood protection strategies for Vlissingen and Southend-on-Sea for the SARCC (Sustainable And Resilient Coastal Cities) project, which is part of Interreg Europe.
After his graduation in 2023, Djimin Teng joined Deltares as a researcher and advisor. Since then, he has worked on various topics, including:
- Physical and numerical modelling of waves and wave-structure interaction
- Probability of non-closure and asset management of storm surge barriers
- Length-effect of flood defences
- Numerical methods and settings for flood risk software
- Modelling of wave-induced clay erosion
