About Henrique Moreno Dumont Goulart
Dr. Henrique Goulart uses climate science to help communities handle real-world problems now and in the future, with a special focus on hydrological risks like floods and droughts. His PhD research created methods for making future climate and impact risks tangible based on 'climate storylines': clear and practical narratives that show how a changing climate could directly impact people and communities.
Henrique’s present work as a researcher and advisor in climate adaptation focuses on projects with partners and clients around the globe to integrate climate sciences and societal impacts. He translates complex scientific data into targeted risk assessments by using and combining a range of advanced models, from physical climate and hydrodynamic models to data-driven and machine learning methods. His ultimate goal is to give communities and leaders the information they need to efficiently and effectively adapt and become more resilient.
He is a visiting researcher at IVM-VU Amsterdam.
