About Josien Grashof

Josien Grashof works on climate adaptation in deltas, coastal areas, and islands worldwide. She holds a Master's degree in Marine Sciences and a Bachelor's degree in Global Sustainability Sciences. Thanks to her multidisciplinary background, she uses an integrated approach to address complex issues in deltas, coasts, and islands.

Josien is involved in climate adaptation projects on both a national and international scale. With her knowledge of natural, social, and institutional systems, she translates scientific insights into strategies, plans, and practical applications. Within the International Panel on Deltas and Coastal Islands (IPDC), she established an online platform for knowledge exchange and supports program management. She also conducts integrated climate risk assessments and works on themes such as urban water resilience.

Through her work, Josien contributes to informed decision-making to make deltas, coasts, and islands more resilient to climate change.
