About Mandy Korff

Dr. Mandy Korff is an expert in the field of geotechnical engineering, more specifically in soil structure interaction, deep excavations and foundation engineering.

With over 25 years of experience in Deltares, Dr. Korff mainly works in the field of foundations and underground construction, geotechnical risk management and the impact of construction/subsidence/earthquakes on structures. Her most current projects mainly relate to the assessment of existing (infra)structures such as quay walls, bridges and houses and/or forensic engineering.

Dr. Korff received her PhD in 2013 from the University of Cambridge, where she worked with professor Lord Robert Mair on the Response of Piled Buildings to the Construction of Deep Excavations. She combines her function as Strategic Advisor and member of the Deltares Science Council at Deltares with an Associate Professorship at TU Delft in the field of Geotechnical Practice. Dr. Korff is fellow of the Netherlands Academy of Engineering and member of the Dutch committee for assessment of damages due to ground water extraction ACSG.
