About Mark Post

Mark Post is a senior geotechnical consultant and researcher in the Soil, Water, and Structures group at Deltares. He holds a degree in Civil Engineering from both the HTS and TU, with a specialization in structural hydraulic engineering and geotechnical engineering. Mark has over 20 years of professional experience. He provides technical expertise to projects and also serves as a project manager. Mark has been with Deltares since 2015 and previously gained experience at Dutch consulting firms and construction companies.

Mark works on projects within road and rail infrastructure, hydraulic engineering, and the offshore wind industry. These projects involve new construction and the maintenance of existing structures. His contributions include desk studies such as finite element calculations or risk analyses, as well as contributions to laboratory and field tests. Recent notable field tests include:

• the Eemdijk test: a full-scale failure test of a dike for flood protection in the Netherlands
• the SIMOX project: load tests on large monopiles with a diameter of 2.2 m for the offshore wind industry

Mark contributes to Deltares’ mission, “Enabling Delta Life,” by delivering quality work driven by substance. He strives to make complex issues concrete and to work toward practical, applicable solutions.
