About Michiel Tukker

Michiel Tukker works in the department of “Hydraulics for Industry and Infrastructure” of Deltares as Sr. advisor on hydrodynamics of pumps and pipeline systems. He has over 18 years of professional experience in hydraulic analysis of pipeline systems, numerical software development, experimental research and field measurements.

Michiel is one of the developers of the WANDA software, used by clients world-wide for the hydraulic analysis of pipeline systems and played a central role in the development of the hydraulic simulation models for the digital twin the Maeslant storm surge barrier and verification process of the Afsluitdijk renovation project.

Michiel has consulted on various topics related to pipeline systems, from waterhammer/surge analysis, design verification and review to field measurements and experimental research.
