About Sebastian Hartgring

After studying Hydraulic Engineering (Delft University of Technology) and Latin American Studies (Leiden University), Sebastian started working at Deltares. In this role, he works with hydrological and hydrodynamic software, including packages developed by Deltares (Wflow, SOBEK, D-HYDRO) as well as those from other parties.

He is also involved in developing automated model schematizations in Python, based on source data and climate models. This is reflected in projects focused on flood risks and hazards, such as Generator of Rainfall And Discharge Extremes (GRADE) and JCAR ATRACE. Additionally, he is involved in various projects in Latin America, where domain knowledge, cultural understanding, and regional expertise come together.
