About Tom Bucx

Tom Bucx is project manager, developer and expert on Climate Adaptation currently involved in several EU projects. He is implementing the EU mission on Adaptation to Climate Change, supporting European regions, cities, and local authorities in building resilience against climate change impacts (at least 150 regions by 2030).

He is involved in NBRACER for the Atlantic region, in DesirMED for the Mediterranean and in SMARTER in regions across Europe. Specifically Tom is supporting assessment and building portfolios of nature-based solutions and adaptation & transformation pathways at regional level. He is also involved in REST-COAST on restoration and sustainable development of coastal wetlands across Europe, and earlier in many other EU projects.

Tom Bucx has been active in many projects in the Netherlands (ICZM, IWRM), Suriname (ICZM), Philippines (DRM), Thailand (IWRM), Bangladesh (ICZM) and in several global initiatives especially the Delta Alliance (now IPDC).

He brings a multi-disciplinairy background and expertise, combining technical, socio-economic and governance aspects towards decision support and implementation.
