About Willem Noorduin

During the 30 years of experience Willem has gained as an IT expert, he has seen just about every compiler, database and software configuration there is. He has participated in the Paralympic Games six times in the shot put and discus throw events. This has shaped him as an IT professional, making him a man who never says “no”. He is someone you can turn to with a wide range of questions. His background in algebraic geometry also helps him understand the issues and challenges that Deltares faces.

His specialities (in addition to his interest in mathematical modelling techniques) include creating hybrid computer architectures, where Windows and Linux work together. He is also an advocate of broadening services. Building Deltares software requires a great deal of attention and, due to new technologies, increasingly new knowledge. With his years of experience, Willem has acquired a wealth of diverse knowledge and is still learning.
