Development of the Adelaide Receiving Environment Model
J.A.G. van Gils
Publication type | rapport Deltares
The report describes the development of the Adelaide Receiving Environment Model (AREM), intended to provide a quantitative assessment of the relation between coastal discharges and seagrass habitat suitability. AREM quantifìes the impact of environmental parameters (light, substrate, temperature, salinity, waves, currents and tidal exposure) on local seagrass species. The relevant environmental parameters are quantified using Delft3D coupled wave-hydrodynamics, suspended sediments and biogeochemistry models. By interrogating this information using literature-derived thresholds, seagrass habitat suitability maps are compiled.
