Dr.   Karin M. de Bruijn is an expert in the field of flood risk management, specialized in flood inundation modelling, flood risk assessment, developing long-term flood risk management strategies, resilience strategies and flood fatality risk assessment.

The last 5 years Karin de Bruijn was especially involved in the Dutch Delta programme in which she provided information on societal flood risks and flood impacts. Furthermore, she has worked and is working in various EU projects related to critical infrastructure vulnerability to floods.
