About Remon Pot

Remon works with a deep rooted passion to empower his research colleagues to make impact. As facilitating leader he develops strategic (public/private) partnerships to utilize applied science to contribute to society.

Since February 2020, Remon Pot is leading the Safe and Resilient Infrastructure group of Deltares. He leads a number of teams that are at the scientific / engineering frontier on the topics of risk and reliability (probabilistic); resilient infrastructure, flood control and climate adaptation.

“We utilise new technologies such as high-performance computing (HPC) and artificial intelligence to develop the best solutions in collaboration with partners and clients.

Our society heavily relies on safe and reliable infrastructure. We work on roads, ports, tunnels, rail, waterways, storm surge barriers and flood protection. They are all subject to more intensive use, climate change and ageing. An cross-disciplinary approach is needed to make and keep infrastructure future-proof and to keep our living environment safe and reliable.”

Through development of world class digital solutions, methods, models, software, AI (ML/DL) and expert advice the department plays a crucial role in society to help to safely design, build and maintain safe and resilient infrastructure (reduce OPEX/CAPEX) for capital investments.

Remon: “I’m passionate about unlocking the full potential of my teams and partnerships. Together, we embrace challenges, innovate, and strive to achieve remarkable results every day. I’m proud to be driving impact in collaboration with leading public and private asset owners across global infrastructure networks”
