Dr. Diermanse is a mathematical Engineer who received his Ph. D. in hydrology. He is an expert in the fields of statistics, hydrology and probabilistic modelling with a broad experience on international projects.

His expertise in statistics and probabilistic modelling is frequently applied in Flood Risk Analysis and flood mitigation projects. He has quantified and analysed probabilities of hydraulic loads and flood risks of a diversity of water systems, in the Netherlands and abroad. His expertise in hydrology has been applied for the support and development of Flood Early Warning Systems (FEWS), operational management and flood mitigation measures.
