Jos van Gils
Expert on water quality (fate & transport of pollutants in aquatic ecosystems) and water quality modelling
Jos van Gils has 28 years experience in projects related to water quality and its management. He has a wide experience in both inland and coastal water studies, and he is an expert in water quality modelling. He has been active in the Netherlands but also in many projects abroad, especially in Southern Europe (Greece), Central and Eastern Europe (Poland, Danube countries), Hong Kong, the Arabian Gulf Region (Palm Jumeirah, Palm Jebel Ali) and Australia. He has considerable experience as a teacher and trainer, both in a project context and at the IHE-Unesco Institute. Areas of expertise:
· Water Qquality Modelling
· Accidental Spills
· Systems Analysis in support to Water Quality Management
· Water Quality Impact Assessment
· Water Quality Model Development
· Exposure Assessments as an element in Risk Assessment
· Water Quality Assessments for New Water Systems
