Kun Yan
Dr. Yan has background in remote sensing hydrology. His PhD focuses on integration of low-cost, space-borne remote sensing data into hydraulic modelling of floods. In particular, he investigated the potential of SRTM (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission ) topography, SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) satellite imagery and satellite Radar Altimetry to support flood modelling in view of various sources of uncertainties (e.g. inflow and parameter). He has lots of experience in hydrological/hydrodynamic modeling, remote sensing and uncertainty analysis, using the open 24/7 operational framework Delft-FEWS in combination with simulation products, such as Delft3D FM.
