Soil-water-structure interaction and the large deformation of fluid-saturated soils are of major importance in geotechnical and hydraulic engineering. The material point method (MPM) is a dedicated tool for modelling this class of problems. The Anura3D MPM software was released at the MPM2017 conference at Deltares and its benefits were demonstrated for several applications.
