GPR imaging of recent coastal-dune development : effects of sand nourishments : a contribution to the projects ‘Kustlijnzorg’and ‘Kustveilig’

Much of the Dutch coast has been subject to structural erosion. From 1990 the policy of dynamic preservation has been implemented, involving sand nourishments at selected locations along the coast. The aim of this study is to establish the origin of sedimentary elements within the beachforedune area and to determine their decadal-scale preservation potential under the present nourishment policy.
